This week I talk about how alcohol can fit into a successful weight loss plan.
In the UK healthy guidelines for alcohol intake are 14 units per week for women and 21 for men. It’s healthier to spread these through the week rather than saving them all up for the weekend..
Drinking within these healthy guidelines fits just fine with losing weight and maintaining your ideal weight. If you enjoy a drink, there’s no need to stop, you can still lose weight.
Obviously alcohol can wreck you weight loss plan if you’re over doing it for a number of reasons, including:
- The calories!
- A binge drink causes your blood sugar crash
- This will increase your appetite
- It will make you crave refined carbs – after which your blood sugar will crash
- You end up having way more calories than you need
