Your body will not change until it is led by your mind.

Where has your mind been leading your body just lately? Look in the mirror or have health check to find the answer.

The fact is just ‘doing’ a diet and/or exercise plan is NOT enough, as many people have emailed me over the years since I started writing this blog. There are loads of you that can’t understand why your efforts aren’t creating the results you want. And I know you’ve been trying really hard. And I also know it’s really frustrating. I’ve certainly been there – wondering if I’d ever be able to do my favourite jeans up ever again.

There are three pillars to successful weight loss and great health – mind-set, nutrition, and exercise. The reason most people aren’t making progress is they are not giving the mind-set pillar the attention it needs. Often it’s ignored altogether, and yet it’s the most important bit because without it the other two don’t work for long.

I remember the first time I did a diet, it was the ‘hip and thigh’ diet. At first it seemed to work and I got back into my jeans again without laying on the floor. Great! However it didn’t last, and the next time I tried it, it didn’t work.

Nutrition and exercise only work on top of a firm foundation of a healthy and slim mind-set. I didn’t know that back then which is why I struggled and got frustrated. But since I realised how vital it is and worked on it I’ve been the slimmest I’ve ever been in my adult life, with no diet.

If you haven’t got the body or the health you want and you’re struggling to achieve it – your mind-set is not there for this aspect of your life, it’s as simple as that. Until you address it, you’re going to keep struggling.

It probably needs developing in the first place, just like a weak muscle you haven’t used for a long time.

Over time your mind-set around health and weight loss either grows stronger or it shrinks – there is no standing still. If it’s not used, like a muscle is will wither and atrophy until it’s not fit for purpose. And your health will follow suit, because your body will only go where it’s led.

Like a muscle – if it’s not fit for purpose it’s going to need building over time. And then it needs maintaining, just like a muscle. You don’t go jogging once and expect to be fit for the rest of your life, it’s the same with your mind-set.
